i know a few people that use Royal Purple, and they really like it.....

i have always used mobil 1 and never had any problems, although it does seem to burn off a bit faster....

However, i would put a few more miles on the car before switching to synthetic, to make sure everything has seated properly.......

Your really not suppose to run sythetic oil in a brand new car with less than 5,000 miles.

Who says that? You realize bimmers and benz use synthetic only from day 1. He will be fine with synthetic.

The real issue is whether or not his rings seated properly. From the lack of mileage, my guess is no but we can't tell without opening the motor up

royal Purple also didnt fair to well on the S2ki oil breakdown and analysis test. AMSOIL and MOBIL 1 Super Synthetic were rated number 1 and 2, with AMSOIL being the best

You might want to keep that oil in there a bit longer. If I remember right, the first oil change should not happen before 3,000-3,500 b/c oil additives that are put in from the factory. This is what I was told by my Honda dealership.

Thats what the manual says but the problem is the oil is now almost a yr old. It has aged and needs to be changed
