Alright, today I decided to change my distributor cap,rotor, plugs and wires. After installing all of those parts my car decided it did not want to crank. Well after that I decided to just install my old parts back on and still the car does not crank. Im stumped and pissed. Could it be that I turned my engine on a few times to get to the rotor screw? Could if possibly flooded? I didnt mash the gas at all while trying to crank it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT:It is fixed now, after some research I decided to pick up a new ignition coil. Problem solved

are you sure that all the parts are connected in the dizzy. could be that u just missed something. i usually cross-check 3 times for good measure.

 

Yeah Ive checked and checked. I only tried replacing the cap and rotor. So there nothing much I could of missed there.

Im thinking my Ignition coil fried. Because it did crank once and just cut off.

 

Problem solved.

 

hey when you're car wouldn't start due to the ingition coil being bad, do you know if you had spark before you put the new one in? I'm having the same problems but my car is sparking just won't crank. Did your starter just like make a grinding sound when you tried to start it?

Have you tried a different ignitor or coil?

 

yeah we took all the guts out of my stock dizzy and put them in my gsr dizzy, still nothing.
