i've got a 93 vtec lude, and whenever i push full throttle into vtec range...theres a heap..and i mean A HEAP of black smoke dumped from my exhaust
anyone have any explanations for this?
i've got aftermarket headers and custom 2.5inch custom exhaust and muffler?

on another note...i'm using mobil 1 5w-50...and at every oil change..approx. 5000km, i notice that its ?burnt? up around 1.5 litre of oil ..sometimes more...
is this normal?

 

H22As burn oil, it's normal. You're running rich. Check your plugs to make sure.

You're spark plgs should be an even light grey color. If they are dark brown or black, then you are running rich.

 

ahhh ok...yeh at last change..thy were black...how do i remedy this?

this is open to anyone: ..what are some lightweight rims available for the lude - that dont look too outrageous (any websites advertising any wheels?)...coz i know my stock wheels are 19kg each!...as compared with an ITR weighing less than half of this

 

96-98 JDM ITR rims.

Mine were $525 shipped with some bald dunlops, but you should be able to get them for much cheaper.

 

yeh they would be good..cept for the fact that they are about 10mm thinner than the lude stock wheels right?...wouldn't that adversely affect the handling?

 

Get Rota wheels. You can get a set of 16x7 Spoon Look-a-like wheels that weight around 14 lbs apiece(i cant remember the exact number) and you can get a set for about 500. Look on modacar.com, I believe they sell them on there.

 

I don't think the rota's come in 4x114.3 bolt pattern.. Do they? I would love s set of black ones for my black 4th gen..

 

I didn't notice any adverse effects, but I did have to use 3 mm spacers on the front two wheels, in order to clear the callipers. I did get better acceleration, though.

 

I got rotas on my lude. they look exactly like spoons. I think they look nice.
