Default Building H22A5 NA engine.

The H22A5 1997 year is strange engine, it have mix of everything. There are square type intake springs, LMA's are springs, the rods have free-flow piston finger bearings. The piston instalation was very easy on this rods. Lot of things that never seen on other H22A/2/4 engines. Never open H22A1.

Car originaly is 4 gen lude with H23A2 engine. The main bearings melt after oil pump failure. With AC, Cruise, no 4WST, that's good, less weight.

We get this engine with strange noise inside. The seller warn us about that. So, we wait for everything.
The everything was overheated piston, burned ex valves, wear out rocker arms and camshafts. Here story:

As it was so bad, we decide to go serious.

"JePistons" 11.5 compr. with stock rods.
"CP" piston fingers
Removed balanced shafts

3 angle valve job, port correction by "Laki Tuning"

Run this engine on dyno.
Tune it with Crome Pro.
Denso platin 20(heat) spark plugs.
Stock cams, soon upgrade with Crower stage 3 and valve train.
60.3mmX1.5mm stainless steel exhaust, tig welded.

First pull after street tune:

Little fuel and ignition correction at top end:

This is one of my first experiences in ecu tune.
