CAI question
No, the intake manifolds place the throttle body at different locations. The GSR manifold is lower, so it has an extra bend that won't agree with an LS setup. It's not worth it to chop up the piping and remove the bend, but you could save the AEM filter and buy generic piping on ebay for your LS.

so it really doesn't matter all that much if its a name brand intake, pretty much anything will work the same right? anyone else got opinions or info about the gsr cai fitting a 95 ls?

The GSR has the dual stage intake manifold, so the throttle body is in a different location. I believe, certainly not sure though, that a type-r cai might work.
And the only reason to worry about brand name is for smog. If you don't have to pass a visual inspection, then you don't need a brand name. There might be a power difference from the coating the big names use, compared to a generic one, since its supposed to help prevent heat soak, but I doubt it would be enough of a difference to worry over for anyone except the drag racer who needs that last 0.01 second.

The ITR and the LS have the same TB location, so they are interchangeable. If you go get a gsr CAI, it will probably fit if you angle the piping into the sleeve that attaches to the TB somehow, but I wouldn't want to worry about it. Changing the angle of the piping or modifying it so it fits could mess up the airflow that AEM based their design on, so if you're going to change it, might as well get a generic one and save your money.
Also, you will have visual to pass CA smog, so it's good to have an AEM CAI with a carb # that matches the make, model, and trim of the car you have. I don't think the LS and GSR AEM shares a carb eo number - search for the CA state California Air Resource Board Executive Order page - so you can search for the EO# for both and see if they match.
