Default Where is this moisture coming from?

Everytime it rains i end up with water in my hatch. I have to take a shop vac and get it out. None of the carpet is wet nor is the carpet in the hatch area wet. But there is water under the spare tire and the sound deadening pad. Someone please help me where this is coming from. Also, I'm looking at my sunroof and even though it opens and closes, when in the closed position the back part of the sunroof has about a half inch gap from being closed completely. Someone please help.

More than likely the drain drain tubes from the sunroof are clogged/leaking. If you pull the plastic access panel on either side of the trunk area ( the ones that allow you to get at the side marker lights) and stick your hand in there... just above the rear wheel well arch you will feel the plastic tubing that makes up the drain system. There is a joint in that area where the two parts of the hose slip together. Maksure it didn't come apart and it's not clogged.

As for the sunroof, visually inspect the hardware and look for anything broken or too worn out that is preventing it from closing all the way. BTW, can you manually close it using the special tool through that little access plug on the headliner?
