Default timing belt issue? (I think)

ok so I went and change my timing belt....When I crank the engine while its cold...my engine knocked really loud. I took everything apart and did it again...this time using a stick, I push my tension upwards while my buddy tighten the nut. I cranked it back up and it still makes a knocking noise....but now when its warm..it doesnt knock...

can it be my spring? seems like my belt is still loose.....one side of the belt would be tight and the other will be loose....vice versa....is that normal?

no its not, make sure you tighten the timing belt well or you'll wreck your motor
also its probably your valves knocking

the belt is pretty close to the cover(near the engine) I thought it was hitting it but I dont see any scratches on the cover too.....Im thinking about buying a spring but damn dont wanna go through all the hassle....especially dealing with that crank bolt....
