Clutch & Flywheel set-up for my hatch?????
Hey all, I know this topic has probably been covered like a million times but I haven't really found exactly wat I need to know, so here it goes. I have a 97 civic hatch with a B18C1 in it and a Drag turbo kit putting down 262WHP and 190lbs torque 7lbs of boost. What I'm trying to do is take the car to the track but I'll be putting down about 300WHP at the track so I need something that will hold! It needs a new clutch now and I want to know what you all think would be the best set-up for my application. I daily drive the car so I don't want a puck clutch.
I was thinking about going with a Fidanza flywheel part number: 191681- 7lbs flewheel, ACT street and strip full face disc and a ACT Xtreme pressure plate.
Now, does the Xtreme pressure plate have enough clamping force or should I go for the XXTREME pressure plate?
About the Flywheel, should I go with a heavier unit (ex: ACT's Streetlite flewheel) so it doesn't slow down to quickly between shifting or is it really that big of a deal?
Thanks for your help

When I had a fidanza alum. flywheel the act clutch ate it up pretty fast
go with act
and get a 6 puck p.s. what single cam?

With the ACT one you can't do that. </TD></TR></TABLE>But how much is the friction surface? I dont even see it listed
I don't know how much they are but the part number is on there web site catalog!!! http://www.fidanza.com

personally...i started pretty much w/ your exact set up..IMO flywheel was a waste of money and my recommendation on the clutch would be act 6puck w/ heavy duty presssure plate...pedal feel is almost stock and never slipped even at 30k boosted miles
go with the Fidanza flywheel.i've been using them since they first came out with Honda applications.never had a problem.the last one i bought i got for a great deal on the Sponsor Marketplace here on H-T.
i'd recommend Clutch Specialties fro a clutch.i used to be a die-hard Clutchmasters guy,but this company has changed my mind.
they offer numerous options depending on power handling, driveability and longevity.i installed the first one about two years ago,and that's all i've used and recommended since.installed about ten so far with no problems.also seen plenty of other people that love them.my car has around 300WHP,and i run 24.5" slicks at the track.i'm using the 6-puck disc with the dual-diapraghm pressure plate.it's still very streetable, but it's overkill for that much power(i got it in preparation for the 450ish WHP i will have soon).they offer a few other options that will handle 300WHP and still be very driveable.
best part is that they are quite a bit cheaper than comparable CM/ACT clutches.
