Stock Civic, What Should be First Purchase
I have a stock 2000 Honda Civic SI (Canada), It is a daily driver and I don't necessarily want to race, I just want some extra punch when I hit the gas getting onto the highway and passing cars. What will give the best bang for my buck? Also I don't want a loud and obnoxious muffler.

get an intake, thats always the best first, then i say ECU if you are ready to spend more than like $100
but if you got lots of cash... intake, exaust, lowering, ecu, plugs and wires, i dunno, do it all

I would go for an intake and exhaust, they will give you the best bang for buck, then when you get a little more $$$ go with a header.

homemade turbo gives best bang for your buck. header and intake give you a whole like 6 hp, unless you plan on using them with more expensive engine mods, and going N/A

get a nice suspension setup. you'll be much happier than anything else you buy for that price, unless you can piece together a turbo kit for cheap. BUT, you sound like you have no idea what you're doing...

I was forced to mod my car in the order that I did, and wish I could have done things differently. if I could have done things in the order I wanted to, I definitely would have done the suspension first. in fact, I bought my suspension before anything else and looked at it in the closet for over a year and a half before it finally got installed

just save your money ,buy nothing but an exhaust. byt the turbo asap. buy all the other stuff,then do a turbo , you will have a bunch of used parts that you will never get your money out of. .02
I agree with all of the people saying to do suspention work. I would def start with a nice set of wheels and tires (being as your in Canada, perhaps one set of summer tires/wheels and one set for winter). This will drastically increase the handling capabilities of your car, and while it wont give you that extra punch you wanted it will def make your car much more fun to drive.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I will definately take them into consideration. I already have an alarm installed and have a sound system from a previous car. So I guess I'll just have to decide my next step.
I like the idea of a suspension but I don't want it to be too low, as I live in Canada and drive through snow 4 months of the year. I would prefer to leave the road plowing to the city, so what would you suggest for a suspension. (I know everyone has a different opinion but what type?)
Also I thought turbo systems were really expensive. What does it cost to get into one? Do I need to do the headers, intake and exhaust first?

If you're just looking for a little extra passing power I wouldn't bother with suspension.
If you really don't plan on doing much with the car then the standard I/H/E would be fine.
I've heard that the Apex'i World Sport is a nice, quiet exhaust; as well as the Mugen Twin Loop.

Get a set of extra rims and some studded snows. That will give you the advantage over 90% of the cars on the road (in the snow anyway)
The only way to really make these cars faster without a crapload of cash is to go turbo. Then you open a big can of worms. Just be happy with your car as is.
