Default Compare these alarms please before i buy one!

I really need to know What are the major difference if any in the Omega 2-way alarm and the clifford 2-way alarm. (besides the price)

Clifford for 350 installed
Omega for 225 installed

It's from an insurance check so nothing comes out of my pocket just more can be put in it.

I hear and I know the reputation of Clifford but the omega seems to do the same do i save money or go with the name brand. My Dvd monitor will be in my car, so you can see the importance of a good alarm. Thanks in advance.

Okay, first of all, you say that you need a good alarm because your dvd monitor will be in the car... Let me say that regardless of alarm, the dvd monitor will be gone if a thief wants it.

Anywhoo... Go with the Clifford. Never heard of "omega"....

I understand what you are saying but It's an indash And you can stop them from taking it. Bracing it down to the crash frame and useing some J.B weld with extra supports. Then you can top it off with razor blades on the side of the radio. You can stop them But then they will just tear it up. That's why I asked for a good 2 way, becuase that much time will not pass. The window sensor will alert me when they get in the car and i can be out fast enough. Also My radio Bezel will be welded to the dash so they can't get in between the bezel and the dash with a crow bar.

Omega 845i? Clifford matrix?

You get more bang for your buck with the 845i. But if you add a DEI 520T to the Clifford, you'd have a slightly better alarm. Clifford is DEI so it's more known and trusted.

they will DESTROY that dash given enough time. And unless you have security on that car 24/7/365 it will happen. I wish you luck

I wont let theives defeat me and i punish myself becuase they want my things. My window is close to my car and somebody is getting a hole in there back with in 10 when i get out there

backup battery and siren? I thought you only need either one of those? Because with backup battery u do'nt need another siren, and same goes to siren. Anyways, with glass sensor, and kill switch, how much for installed?

I got quoted matrix 10.5 for $350 included some accesories that the shop carry like hood pin and kill switch too, but a back up battery or siren will cost another 65

It's an all in one. It's usless getting a back up battery and they cut the siren. Then it's usless getting an extra siren and they cut the battery. They have to be a self contained unit. they can cut my wires on my back up hit it with a jack hammer. I wont shut off till the battery's die. if they cut that wire then my hidden actual siren goes off with my stock horn, they will never find my brain unit. I had to pay about 100 extra for the customizing. It's worth it. and that was still a hook up. It took the 8hrs to do it. after everything it came to 511.00 regular it would have been well over 6 with the extra crap they did. It's cool becuase you pop my hood and you see a siren, but it's a decoy and the other will never be cut cause they wont have time to find it. TIME is the Key

A backup siren I meant was self powered, so meaning if the batter is cut, it will activated, and how to shut it off is depends on which siren you got.

A backup battery is recommended by the shop I got, the owner said if the main battery is cut, nothing will go wrong, you don't need to reset your alarm, clock, raido, or anything like that, and the siren will still going. It is true that you said theives cut off your siren and it's meaningless, but most of the time, when they cut your battery and your alarm is still going on, they will freak out and ran away, plus they wouldn't use extra time to trace the wires to your siren.

I agree with you that time is the key. I'm picking an alarm too, Matrix 10.5 soundz a good alarm, but it only have one kill to the ignition or something like that, but G5 has two kill, so theives will have harder time to start your car for G5. So, I was actually asking that if you got that extra kill for your Matrix, and how much would that charge? I never heard of it came with all in one package, unless it is special only for that store you got. And Matrix only has one sensor, I guess it is called knock sensor, but no glass sensor. Anyways, let us know how your new alarm goes.

I have a bunch of extra's put it to you like that. The GEneral manager is my friend . I have more than a few layers on my sytem. I'm not worried about them stealing the car. That's the least of my worries, They like to take what's in it over here. What I meant about the battery is, if you have 1 siren and they cut the battery then yes your alarm goes off but it's not audible. that's why a back up battery and siren is important. The only one they can see on my car is the back up. If they cut that alarm, it keeps going off and sets off the other main alarm then my car horn is tied into that. while my loud 2 way is going off and vibrating at the same time next to my ear! see how the time plays an issue. It take s 1 sec for my 2 way to react.
