94 hatch with 97 d16 mini me swap...start rite up fine the wont go over 2000 rpms just revs up too 2000 rpms then just back fires..changed the ecu/spark plugs/spark plug wires/tps sensor/iac sensor/ anyone no wats wrong? would it b my timing? pls help..!!!

 

Could be your timing, what ecu are you running?

Is it chipped to run whatev maps? What head, d16y8?

 

does it just sputter after 2k, or is it like it has a 2000 rpm rev limiter. is it throwing any codes? it sounds like its in limp mode

 

yeh its the d16y8 head...the check engine light isnt on..so its not throwin any codes..like wen it goes to 2000 rpms it sounds like rev limiter but it repeativly backfires...this is my 2nd p28 in the car n still doin the same thing...like wen its cold n i start it it revs open like it should to like 6500 rpms but the wen it gets warm the idle dropps n it wont go over 2000 rpms.. could it b a sensor?timing?o2 sensor/map sensor?
