Default 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust piping

As some of you know I plan on doing a mild NA engine build on my B16A in the near future. Is my current 2.25" setup going to be suficient or would I get quite a bit more power out of a 2.5" piping? I'm just trying to do every thing right the first time so I don't need to spend more $ correcting mistakes.

2.5" in my expereince with NA applications is ideal for maximum power from a street car. I have not seen any negative effects of using it, and the benefits of 2.5" become more and more apparent as engine output increases. 2.25" is prolly going to come within a whp or two though, so it's up to you.

3" is something I'd like to experiment a little with. Though, I'm probably just going to go with an electronic cutout for my particular project that's wired to either an rpm acitvated switch (if i find that power is lost in lower revs), or to a switch that can just be turned on or off at the track.

3" thermal but I baught it for my built 2.0, currently running stock interal 2.0 now and seems to work just fine. I'd go with 2.5" with your motor.

I running a 60mm (2.36") ex and I wish I went 2.5. It's hella quiet though, even with a test pipe, which I am actually happy about.

As far as the setup I plan on running, something similar to or actual CTR components. I will also have Intake mani(already bought, need to install), headers(need to buy) and a 64.5mm overbore TB(coming when I install the mani.) and I already have exedy lightweight flywheel/clutch, Intake, exhaust and basic tune-up. I plan on keeping it a DD, and hopefully still being legit on smog.
