vtec not engaging/working
i have a 97 ITR motor in my 99 si and have encountered a problem where when attempting a vtec pull you can slightly hear vtec engage i believe not nearly as loud and audible as just 1 week prior to today and the motor dose not seem to pull hard at all now. Motor is a fresh rebiuld bored block 84mm sleeved and has just basics like intake, exhaust, etc... its running on the stock b16a2 ecu currently. has correct oil level, no air pockets in coolant hoses all sensors pluged in securely. the are no CEL's pertaining to this problem im having all i get is a secondary 02 catylast below threshold because of empty cat. only problem i can come up with that may be the casuse is i havent traced back any wiring to my ecu so there may be a flaw there but am still looking for someone to point me in the right direction. oh yea and for some reason there is no screen in my vtec solonoid rubber seal but i checked it to see if it was clogged and no change in performance. Somebody on here has to be able to help me out some how

your butt dyno needs to be recalibrated.
no offense man, but i dont see a problem. just because it feels a little slower dosent mean something is broken. hell a weather change can cause slight power losses.

i took that into consideration buts it not possible i have only been drving my car hard for 400 sum miles its ridiculously slower and vtec is not engaging like it should
Or maybe you're just so use to it.. it just feels slower because you're expecting a gain from a rebuild... try a different ECU out.. maybe you're wiring blew out your ECU or short circuit.. Can you still take your RPMs up to the 8K fuel cutoff or wherever the B16 ECU goes up to???? It might just be an ECU problem.....
my o2 code gets thrown as well..(i too have my cat gutted on my 00 si)...but my vtec still engages...i know this because i hit t3h m4d vt4x on da freeway as i race minivans
