cx to gsr brake swap
i have already searched and have not found what im looking for so please dont tell me to search . i bought a cx hatch and have a si hatch that is totaled it has the gsr brakes swap front and rear . im going to put the gsr brakes on the cx do i need to change the brake booster or will i be ok with just the line calipers and rotors cables please help i wanting to try to do the swap tommoro or monday. thanks donny
You'll need the spindles, rotors, calipers, and lines for each wheel well. You don't HAVE to do the MC or BB, though if you're doing one, you have to do the other matching one with it. There are some combinations of mixing and matching that work, but really, if you already have a set, it takes like an extra minute to do the BB while the MC is out. The only reason for doing that is brake pedal feel (stiffer pedal with bigger diameter MC). If it's not a big deal to you, skip it.
Probably the most important part of all that is that you NEED to use the spindles on the other car. The CX spindles will not work, at all (spindle being the thing with the hub that the rotor slides onto). It's easiest to drop the upper control arm (two 14mm nuts I think, on either side of the shock tower in the engine bay).
