I have never changed the trans fluid before. My friend told me Im going to need a funnel with a small plastic tube on the end. They sell these or is this a diy. if diy, and one have some tips so i dont make a mess?

Hand pump rocks... I've also used this little nipple thing they sell that you add to the end of the oil bottle and a clear tube runs off that to the fill hole. both work well, the later requires 2 people or you can make a big mess.
either a funnel or hand pump, or Heinz ketchup pump works fine.
If you do get a funnel, go with at least 0.5" opening and hook it up to a clear PVC hose (OD 0.5" opening). All the necessary stuff available at Home Depot & AutoZone.
p.s. Hand pump is A LOT quicker than using a funnel. ~5 minutes w/ a pump... ~10 minutes with a funnel

junkyard special---
~cut an empty motor oil bottle in half about middle height from the bottom.
~save and use the top half, and screw the cap on tightly, this will be your funnel.
~get 2 feet of rubber hose/tubing that is 1/2" outside diameter, (clear tube works best).
~drill one hole into top of the oil bottle's cap with a drillbit that is slightly smaller than 1/2".
~jam a half inch or more of the hose into the cap's new hole.
there ya go, a "cheaper than a snickers bar" funnel for tranny fluid

I used a regular metal funnel from the kitchen. I poured the fluid in from the vent on top of the tranny... it has a black rubber plug on it. wait till the fluid runs out of the regular fill hole on the side of the transmission, then button everything back up.
oh yeah, you want to jack up the rear of the car too to get it level to get the correct amount of fluid into the trans.

I use garden hose and root it to the engine bay. Then poll fluid into the garden hose with a funnel. I also have a container at the bottom to catch excessive fluid when it overspill.
Works great.
