the car is an 95 eg coupe, wiht an ls motor and b16 tranny.
the guys telling me that that 3rd gear = 1st / 4th = 2nd / 5th = 3rd/ and reverse = 4th. and there no reverse.

he says that the tranny is good but the gears are just mixed up like that. how much would it cost to fix taht. also what is casueing that. could it be shift linkage or something?

also he wants 2500 for it do you think thats a good price? or should i haggle him

Forget that. If the tranny is messed up like that who knows what else in the car is messed up. I wouldn't touch it.

 

i was thinking that but it could it be something simple like putting the shifter linkage on wrong scince all the gears are shifted over by 2
