Cargo covers goes flying! Anybody have this prob?
Ok, my CRX is lowered. And granted, the ride is rougher then re-entry from orbit on a space shuttle.
Sometimes I hit some bumbs (old lady's, cats etc) and my cargo cover goes sailing. Does anybody have some ideas to remidy this? (And no, dont tell me to avoid the old ladys and cats and other bumps cause its impossible...my ride is hella rough!)
I was thinking to mount some removable brackets on that area near the rear speakers on the plastic, and have those brackers hold the cover down and tight. Those brackets could later be un-bolted and taken off if my cargo cover needs to come off. (So I can put all the dead cats and old ladies in there to hide the evidence.)
What do you guys think? I would rather keep the cargo cover because I have an amp and small subwoofer in there that I don't want people seeing. Thanks guys!
mmmm

Removable brackets? Why? Just bust out the #1 most versatile tool known to man: duct tape. Just slap a couple pieces of duct tape on there and your done. Plus it will only take all of 30seconds to apply or remove.

did you cut your springs or someting? ir seriously shouldn't be that ruff unless you guys have shitty roads.
anywayz it shoul dhave a couple clips that actually HOLD it into place like on a hatchback. if not then i would also go with duct tape

Yeah there should be some clips that would hold it in place. Maybe yours are not there and that's why it flies. There should be 4 clips holding the main part (not the side that flips open). With those there it shouldn't come off at all unless you pull it off. The only side that would move when you hit a bump would be the side that gives you access to the hatch.
ya, we have the shittiest roads! Its horrible! I can't explain how bad they are...well on the side streets anyways.
Is your cargo cover ripped in two pieces? What you can do is try to custom make some straps to hold them together and that should help.
take a screw(i used those black phillips head ones) and screw it thru the cargo cover on each side in between where the 2 pegs are.... I did that on my hf and it worked perfectly, never fell off again

If you've got those two sliding latches like I do on my '90 Civic Si, you can take them apart and re-tension the metal piece in there to stay closed tighter. Otherwise, what about velcro tape? Should hold really well and still allow removal without tools.
Holy crap! You are fuggin tallented! nice web skillz! I wish I was that good, and I even worked as a web developer! Nice!
