ok so anyways today I put my amp filter funtion to "HP"(high pass) and now it acts like a giant speaker and when I turn it up to normal-med volume it can be heard from half a block away. it sounds good from inside the car kinda like a surround sound but its kinda embarassing... should I just put it back to LP? what if I turn the sub facing the front of the car will that decrease the amount of noise going to the outside?

Your amp now acts like a speaker? That's pretty strange.. Must be a new feature that I haven't heard of...

Have you actually measured the distance from which your audio can be heard, or is this your "approximation"?

If you enjoy having operational subs, then yes. If you fancy having to replace woofers with burnt coils, then by all means, leave it on HP.

Since low frequencies are generally omnidirectional, the way you face the box should have no effect on the volume of sound escaping your "rolling boombox". If you're concerned about how much sound is getting out of the car, give it a stern warning about staying nearby, or roll your damn windows up.
Friggin noobs...
