Default Chop saw

Hey,
Can any of you guys reccommend a nice chop saw? I have been reading some reviews, but have not found any that have all that good of remarks. It will be mainly used to cut intercooler piping, and exhaust. Max size will be 3" piping.
Thanks!

Interested as well. How well do the harbor freight ones perform ? Even though there not that cheap, but harbor freight has a 20% coupon right now also.

Do you have the chicago or the Milwaukee? Has anyone compared an abrasive blade chop saw to a dry cut? Is the dry cut worth the extra money for occational use? I am looking at the Milwaukee 6180-20 right now.

I have the harbor freight 6" saw, and it works great for small stuff. Even cuts the occasional Sch 40 in a few seconds...

I would definetly try out the harbor freight one. Its not like its super complicated like a tig welder.

I have a milwaukee,

works great, my only complaint is that if you plug it into a 15A fused line, it'll probably blow the breaker if you're cutting thick stuff (like this 3x2 thick walled tube.) No problem with a 20A breaker. Norton cutoff wheels, $4 a piece from home depot, they last a pretty long time. I shopped around for the saw, and it was for some reason FAR cheaper at the home despot than elsewhere.

I don't think cutoff saws are bad as long as you're ok with the small mess and cleaning off burrs on important stuff. Good luck shopping!

I have an old school ryobi at work and a new makita at home. They are both good but the makita is way nicer though.

Chop saws are great. I have the HF one and it works fine for the occasional use. You asked about the wet saw...for the occasional use, its going to be a waste of your money...do they cut nicer? Absolutely.

Makita chop saw works great and this is a great deal

Use only 3/32 or .105 thick blades stay away from anything wider as it takes to much power to turn them

I have a milwaukee that I haven't used in a long time. Never really used it much to begin with so it's near new condition. Make offer.
