Default Q for eg owners with a z6 or y8 transmission?

Hi, i'm having some probs with my speedo, not sure if it's off or not

if anyone can tell me what mph they are at, at 3500 or 4000 rpm while cruising in 5th gear, i'd much appreciate it.

My car shows 85mph at 3500rpm in 5th

I've got a y8 tranny in my 92 cx hatch,
195-50-15 tires..

Thanks a bunch!

That sounds about right, maybe a little off compared to mine, but nothing outrageous. At 70mph my speedo reads around 3000rpm with 195/50/15 tires, but I have a 99 hatchback with a z6 tranny.

oh also the y8 and z6 have the same gearing
so i'm assuming either of those trannys and 195-150 tires should net the same result.. even on a different car..

Maybe I'll do a little 60-70mph cruise tonight before or after work and I'll find out what mine says for sure

if you want to find out for sure how far off you are, ask to see who has a gps reciever (garmin, magellan...) and put it on the gps info screen. once tracking is under 20ft, check your speed.

Yup.. a little more then what you want... but i could bet that ur speedo is off about 2-3 mph

I have the exact same thing as you do. tire size and all. And ive checked on several different road speedtrapts and im off 3 mph. If my speedo says 70, im doing 67. If speedo says 25, im doing 22.

I also check it with my fathers friends patrol car. Same thing.

Very similar results, not exact same gearing. Also, the ex and si z6 tranny is different in 5th gear. Ever so slightly, but different.
