my shifter rattles when in 1st at a light ( when stopped clutch in) and when in 5th when driving..
its getting really anoying anyone have a cure for this? everything is tight.. i checked everything many times.. i think it might be hitting the exhaust? anyone know forsure?

It would actually be more prone to hit the exhaust in 3rd and 4th gears but I wouldn't rule it out. Check the exhaust for marks and check the bolts and the bitch pin.

 

well when i push it in 1st from N back and forth while the clutch is in at a light u can hear it hitting somthing and same with 5th.. i know its weird position for shifter to be to be hitting somthing.. and when i give it a little gas it moves the shifter and rattles

 

look under your car and see what its rubbing, and make sure the rear linkage bolts are in well. If there isn't anything stuck up there, check your rear motor mount. If the rear mount breaks, the shifter will drop a little and hit the exhaust/heatshield (and you'll feel the shifter move as the motor torques forwards and back in the engine bay).
