how do you install remote start on a manual pls help
i know you have to bypass the clutch but how do you do that and what else has to be done does ne one have a write up.I have a viper alarm and a 94 civic thanks
basicly
look at ur clutch pedal. at the top of it there is a 2 wire harness, disconnect that, put a paper clip in there so that there is a connection between the 2 wires, tape it.
unscrew 3 phil screws on the plastic were the ign. is and connect the wires to the wires silver thing that looks sorta like a D battery. im sure i missed a step someplace but u get the idea. O yea, NOT RECOMMEND AND PROBABLY NOT VERY SAFE TO DO.

well i always leave my car in neutral its a habbit would like to have for winter and always good to get the oil flowin to the turbo. but ive heard all the horror stories but on the same token you turn on the tv and see dumbasses wrecking and driving drunk but that doesnt mean thatll happen to you thanks for the help
my friend left is teg in neutral at school and his e brake failed.
lets say it went over 4 curbs, 3 banks and barely missed a light pole and 4 other cars.
i dont think that is a good idea, he got lucky and just had to get a new alignment.

Your Viper remote start has a "status" output wire, it is low current neg. (-) output when remote start is activated, connect it to the "Clutch Interlock Switch" output wire, [probably blue/black] the other wire on the switch is probably black and is connected to ground, the switch supplies a ground, [through blue/black wire] to the starter relay, once connected the Vipers "status" wire will supply the needed ground when remote start is activated.
BTW... even though a Viper, [DEI] remote start can be connected into a standard transmission car DEI does not recommend it as there are no, [in gear] safeties.

yea im getting a viper fcm can you go into more detail about it pls thanks for your help and will it interfear with my turbo timer???
If you don't have it yet, why not look into a Compustar http://www.compustar.com
Made for auto or standard trans. turbo timers built in, "ready mode" for standard trans., can't be started in gear.
Look at it this way, if for whatever reason it did get started in gear, do not expect any help for damage or liability from your insurer.

Actually I don't see any problem with it. The info is still relevant, and it helps keep the info organized in the archives for searching.
There is no way to safely install a remote start on a manual transmission, even with alarms that are intended for that application. The overriding reason is that you should always park your manual transmission equipped car in gear and not rely on the ebrake.
If for some reason remote start is overwhelmingly necessary for your car and you can't sell your car and buy an automatic, you should put a magnet sensor on your shifter to detect when it is in neutral.
