Ok... I have a way to get parts from Advance at a discount, but only once, so I'm trying to figure out everything that I'll need to fix my car before hand. I know some of the items I'm planning on replacing anyway, but if anyone can make some suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Here's the specs: 1992 Honda Civic Si, D16Z6, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, ~245,000 miles on the chassis

I know I'm going to be getting:
axles
upper ball joints
lower ball joints
outer tie rod ends
wheel bearings
brake rotors
brake pads


If anyone has suggestions as to what else I should replace while I'm at it, I'd appreciate hearing about it. I have the tools to do pretty much everything I need in house, so that shouldn't be a problem. I need to buy everything at once for this, so anything you think might be bad, please let me know, b/c I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Given the mileage, you probably already changed your shocks. Maybe change your suspension bushings too.

Actually, shocks haven't been changed yet. They looked stock when I pulled them, so perhaps they ought to get changed as well. Which bushings do you figure need to be changed? All of them?

Also thought I might get parts to rebuild the extra D16Z6 and trans I have around.

 

i think energy suspension makes a master bushing set and its about 200 i wanna say? correct me if im wrong, and also i agree on changing the shocks

Shocks I can agree with. This car is my daily driver, and the only mods I'm making to it are to make it more comfortable and safer/more responsive. I'm not aiming for a race car here, and I'm not keen on giving up what's left of the ride I have.

I went by Advance today, and they have either Monroe Sensatrac, KYB adjustable (first born child price), and KYB regular shocks. Any recommendations as to which would be best?

Regarding the energy bushings, I don't think they're available through Advance, which kinda defeats the purpose of getting the discount on the parts. Beyond that, I have heard that the ride quality noticably lessened. Is this not the case? Do you think I ought to bit and piece it, and replace the bushings anyway?

 

Go with AGX(adjustable), then you can set them to accomodate your ideal comfort/driving capable standards.

is it worth the extra $60 a shock?
