ok what are the chances of a alternator going bad and causing odd check engine codes ?im getting 2 o2 sensor codes a electric load detectorand a vss code i changed the ELD figured it was that but no luck traced it to alt and found alt is not charging battery so im thinkig it is not giving the rite voltage to sensors and makeing them come up as faulty

 

might sound funny, but did you check the alternator fuse?

i know on dc2's, if that fuse is blown, the speedo will not work and you will throw ELD. Always check the small stuff first and start eliminating pssible causes. If you haven't already checked the connections, do that (im sure you have though).

 

yeah i did that stuff the speedo actually bounces from 0mph to 100mph and the car is in park with no foot on the gas pedal lol,all the lites also surge oh yea this is in a 97 civic
