D-series alternator and B20 Crank Pulley...
I'm going to use my d16a6 alternator w/a b-series alternator pulley on my b20z to drop into the crx. The b20 crank pulley is pretty heavy, and the AC and PS rings are not necessary for my application. i know some LS crank pulleys also have the AC and PS rings, but is there a weight difference btwn the LS and B20 pulleys, or are they identical? Would it even be worth it to get a diff pulley? I don't want the B20 pulley to overdrive my d-series alternator.
Thanks
Thanks
I have a B20B in my 91 CRX Si. I am running the stock(b20) crank pulley and the stock(d16) alt. pulley. Everything is fine, save the fact that the Alt. is being held on by the belt because the bracket and bolts don't match up. If you haven't put the B20 in yet, just go to the junkyard and find a 90-91 teg alt. Much easier. Good luck and you'll love the engine!!
cool. any last minute things you ran into or advice you'd like to dispense before i start? i've already done a swap and have done a decent amount of automotive work so i mean specifically any last minute unexpected things i'll need to know? ie what wires on the d16a6 harness need to be lengthened..do i need more than just the driver side engine bracket to match the aftermarket (hcp) mounts? did the longblock fit ok with the large crank pulley? etc. anything would be appreciated as i would like to do this swap with as much relative ease as possible. hehe.
thanks
thanks
