Default shift linkage question

K i have a quick question guys, im installing a B18b1/GSR tranny into a 2000dx and i bought whats suppose to be a GSR shift linkage. Now i just went to put the new short shifter onto the shift linkage and the gap is way bigger than the bottom of the shift lever. Am i just suppose to use washers to fill in the space or do i have the wrong shift linkage? When i installed my B&m short shifter onto the same engine/tranny setup i had no problems whatsoever. BTW it has the metal rod coming off the end of the shift linkage which i dont think is on mine?

Some of the aftermarket shifters are made for multiple applications. There are normally silver or gold spacers provided for the shifter.

The medal rod, if you are speaking of the piece that is on the end (towards back of car once installed), that is a weight for contershifting and better throw when shifting.

If you can, summit a picture of the linkage, you can normally tell quickly with a quick look.

yea what the jdmcars guy said. the one we just put in we had to use spacers. we talked to the guys we bought it from and they said since the honda/acrua ones where so close they make they fit the hondas and then you use spacers for a acura. i guess it is cheaper for them to make 1 style instead of 2.

Would need a full picture of it, something to show the other end which is important. That stock shifter didn't come out of a 94+GSR for certain.
Even though the end of the picture is cut off, it looks like it probably is a B Series shiftlinkage.

It does look like something that will work, it is hard to compare with only a picture, but the picture does at least show that it is not a D Series or something completely wrong.
