Ok here's the thing i got my system professionally installed and i just added a HO alternator so i removed my Cap out of my setup.

Not knowing that i had to discharge the Cap first i just cut the positive and the negative. I was just wondering did I damage my Cap?

I'm trying to put it into anoter car and its not working.

Any input is greatly appricated!!!

Discharge it then recharge it and see what happens.

 

here's the thing before i cut the wire i took the my fuse out of my distribution block... will that discharge my cap?

Lol your distributor is what provides spark to your car.

Is it one of those caps with the stupid electronics on top?

Normally no you cannot damage a cap that way. But you may have damaged the un-needed electronics if the wires crossed.

Lets see the top where the wires go.

If the contacts go straight through then maybe you just killed the electronics. The cap will still work you just wont have the digital readout. The digital display is just there for eye candy.

Is there a remote wire on that.

Your fine just hook it up it will still work. Even if the display doesn't the cap will.

 

i don't get how my digital read out just dosn't work anymore

 

well some dont kick in right away. i had one that only work at really high bass levels.

 

ok i did some reasearch and found out that my cap does not need to be charged or discharged it does it automatically

well my cap doesn't seem to be working at all
