egr block off question (searched)
I'm in the process of blocking off my EGR valve....I was going to use sheet metal but my friend told me that to use aluminum (coke can) b/c the aluminum will make a tighter seal and that the sheet metal won't seal that well. Has anyone had any experience with aluminum??? I would think that the aluminum would melt after the hot gases were exposed to the aluminum... Thanks in advance!!!!
thanks for the fast response...I was thinking about cutting an outline with cardboard and taking it to a machine shop and having them cut it out of sheet metal...what do u guys think???
i ran a coke can for a few weeks... 2 layers.. then the EGR valve back on top...
theni bought a machined piece.. for like 12$...
both were the same.

its not a big deal just use the alu. from a coke can there is nothing wrong with that. nothing happens. i did it for a while but i had to take it off for the smog inspec. that coke can works just fine. plus the egr only works in cruse not in hard acce. or WOT. just to let you know. it will not affect performance.
