Default Advice/Suggestion Please

Okay I am in the process of getting a 5spd swap underway to pair up a h23 with my h22a. I went h23 because I hope to add boost in another year or two while I slowly do my engine build to handle the load. Now if I don't get to add boost I will just aim for around 230whp. Now my thing is I can't really drive a 5 spd all to well (getting the car going from a stop) but I know I have to learn at some point. I have my eye on the ACT HDSS clutch kit with a Quaife LSD. My concern is if I don't get to boost and end up going mild~moderate all motor, should I go for something like the Exedy OEM clutch kit to save money and learn 5 spd or go ahead and do the ACT kit in case I do get to boost. I assume the ACT will take a bit more practice considering it is 41% stiffer than stock.

act stuff is very stiff from my experience....but i think the clutchmasters stage 3 is a good choice for you

you wont notice much of a pedal stiffness difference, but it will hold the power if you need it to...

too bad standard trans rental cars are non-existant. i would not worry about learning stick, you wont mess up your car unless you are a retard. just get someone to teach you. you will be driving no sweat in a week

i would go ahead with the act clutch, you will/should get used to it.
230hp n/a h23, thats a mighty tall order, that would require some pretty extensive mods...but if do achieve it you would still want more that an oem replacement clutch for that...

I don't think 230whp is hard to achieve. yeah it cost i already know that portion, lol. i figured 11:5 or 12:1 forged pistons on a sleeved block 88/89mm bore, skunk 2 cams, skunk 2 intake manifold, tb at like 68mm, smsp or rmf header in conjuction with a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, neptune or hondata and a port & polish. I assume currently I am doing about 170-175whp now, and with the list mentioned above should get me at least 50-60 extra horses.

I went from not knowing 5 spd at all, to driving a brand new oem clutch to driving an act racing clutch in 10 days...you just get used to it. ACT does not like to be ridden tho. So learn to ride the clutch on stock until you don't do it anymore (took me about 5-6 days to get comfortable) then I put in my ACT. Never had an issue, never smelt the clutch, nothing. Clutch grabs hard tho, not the funnest when you are stuck in traffic!
