Default Help! Timing!

Hey all, i just reassembled my head and everything and think i moved both the cams over a tooth from stock(like how they are supposed to be at tdc, i think there clockwise a tooth) and i started it. so now my main concern is if haveing the cams off by a tooth will teh pistons hit the valves? it runs but has a very low idle and is very sluggish like it has no compression or something. I think i need to readjust the valves. But ya help anyone!?

im not on purpose, just wondering if i did not line it up properly if that would damage the valves. Would the car run if the cams were off by one?
