gsr strut bar in ek chassis?
I just bought an oem gsr strut bar for my 98 cx. The strut bar lines up over the chassis ok, but apparently there are lil grooves where it looks like there is supposed to be holes for me to bolt my strut bar onto the chassis. do i have to drill my chassis to install the strut bar? has anyone else ran into this? on top of that the strut bar hits the stock air box, but thats no big deal because i plan to get an intake anyway. any experiences with gsr strut bars in an ek? any one that could shed a lil light on this would be a great help. thanks.
do you think it is better to have the strut bar connect where the holes are or to the strut tower? because i bought a type r strut bar from Honda and poeple are saying that an ebay strut that connects to the strut tower would be better than the strut that goes where the indentations are. any opinions?
yeah i was begining to wonder the same thing. i think the difference is probably a small one, but if its bolted from the indentations i think it grabs a little bit more of the chassis. not really sure, but it would make sense to bolt it from the strut tower. ive seen people run two, one from the indentations and one from the strut tower. he said he couldnt tell the difference when he added the other one, so i dont think it makes a huge difference.
i would guess that since it's a 'strut' bar, it'd be more effective when connected to the struts.
i have front and rear in my Z and the difference is noticeable, but i've been told that with all my suspension mods on my 'lude, strut bars would be a waste of $$$.
