no vtec?
i noticed that vtec isnt kicking in on 2nd gear. it does in 3rd but not in 2nd. what could it be? its pretty cold outside and its also snowing (if that has anything to do with it).
VTEC has to have a couple engine parameters: engine speed, oil pressure, coolant temperature, vehicle speed. if one of the mentioned are not correct, VTEC will not function. it is also possible that there is VTEC but you can't hear or feel it. check valve lash, timing and expendible products.
check you vtec solenoid. if you dont know it is on the rear/passenger side of the valve cover. take it out and clean it with electric motor cleaner. also check oil level and psi. good luck bro.
