Need help with alarm install
I just finished, or so I thought, an install on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. I put a Viper 791XV on it. I hooked every wire up to what my wiring schematic said. Here's the wiring schematic: http://www.the12volt.com/insta...&PN=4
After hooking everything up, I'm trying to program it. I'm going by the instructions in the book and it doesn't do anything. No siren chirp, no LED flashing. When I push the button for the remote like I'm programming it to a channel, the remote beeps at me saying it can't send a signal like it's out of reach. I checked my door trigger connection and my pink wire (can't remember what it goes to) as these are the only two required to program it. The valet button is plugged in as is the antenna. The alarm is getting power because I can pluck the shock sensor and its LED will light up. What could it be?

The door trigger, [green (-) in your case] and the ign., [pink] are not the ONLY ones needed, they are the ones you have to have.
To program the remote, are you opening the door and leaving it open, turning on the ign. and leaving it on, then pushing valet button one time releasing and then pushing and holding it, at this point the siren should chirp one time and the LED should blink one time, then press and release the arm/lock button on remote.
If you are not getting the chirp and KED flash once you press and hold the valet button you are not getting into the "transmitter/receiver learn routine".
Take my be for a number of reasons, improper power or ground for unit, or the pink is not connected properly, [to ign. 1] or the door trigger, [green] is not connected properly, [to the tan and orange wires at the BCM] or the diodes are backwards. http://www.directwholesale.net...LLDOG this may help.

I checked the door triggers and even undid them and just hooked straight into the driver's door only trigger without a diode. The pink wire is on the 1st ignition and I double checked it. For power, I ran a power wire straight from the battery through the firewall to the brain. The ground is on a bolt that is on the door frame, so that should be good. It never chirps or blinks and doesn't enter the learn routine. I am following the instructions which are the same as you state, but nothing happens. I'm lost.
the antenna is plugged into the brain. Would not having the remote start satelite hooked into the brain be the problem as now that I'm thinking of it it probably is. DAMNIT. MUST TRY THAT.
