Default DAY 3: Still not running 85% done!

I would recommend to people doing there first swap
to make sure you have all the proper tools, good weather,
read up knowledge is power. Well you guys were right. harness
would be been easier with engine on the ground. Exhaust manifold
was fine to get on no big deal. I only have 4 problems let till I try to start it
up.

1. I connect the intermediate shaft and then the axle for the driver side.
but it seems off by like 3 inches from going into the lower ball joint. I think
its because of the space between the axle and intermediate shaft. See picture
below and let me know if the space is suppose to be like that.

2. I don't know how to set the new spark plug wires. I would of just
copied the original setup but engine did not have wires to begin with.
Can someone show me a diagram or explain to me which wire goes where?

3. I need to replace (1) axle nut. Do the stock civic axle nuts fit the
new b-series axles that I had to use with the swap?

4. Stock civic harness worked but left me with two problems. The exhaust
manifold sensor does not connect due to location being underneath the car instead
of in the front. Also the sensor that was in the back of the old d-series manifold intake manifold is not in the front of the LS manifold how do I fix this just extend wires? (picture below should help get my point across.)

Thank H-T... Its almost complete!!!!

It would have been easier to use an integra wiring harness.

You need to be using GSR or any 94-01 integra axle and b series intermediate shaft, If you are using these parts there wont be a problem, sometimes the axles compress on themselves, make sure you arent over reacting, extend the axles gently see if thats the problem, cuz they are designed to extend and compress as the control arms move up and down.

2. I don't know how to set the new spark plug wires. I would of just

Looking at the distributor it goes: top left 3, top right 4, bottom left 1, bottom right 2.

Wires on the block go: clutch side( 4 3 2 1) Timing belt.

3. I need to replace (1) axle nut. Do the stock civic axle nuts fit the
new b-series axles that I had to use with the swap?

Yes, they do the splines on the hubs are the same, its the splines at the diff/intermediate shaft that are different.

You mean the 02 sensor yes extend the wires, make sure you have the 02 sensors in the correct locations, primary 02 goes in the header(measures air fuel) secondary 02 sensor goes behind the cat.

The sensor that has moved on the intake manifold is IAT(intake air temp sensor), make sure you have the correct plug and extend it to work.

You should also really have a helms manual, hope the onfo helps PM if you have more questions.

Thank H-T... Its almost complete!!!!

so the driverside axle end should be flush with the intermediate shaft? or should there be a space in between axle and intermediate shaft? I am using Integra 94-01 axles...

Should i just keep banging on the axle till it goes in?
Does the driverside axle seperate from the intermediate shaft?
Should i try to disconnect and re-connect?

Darn thing needs to just go in a little further, to allow me to drop wheel
hub into lower ball joint and bolt up if that makes sense?

Thanks so much for all the info "fastrunner"

axle needs to go in further... did you put a new ring on the end?

just extend the wires for the o2 sensor and IAT sensor.

o2 sensor, solder your wires and use shrink tube, don't use butt connectors.
iat, undo tape to harness, relocate it through intake runners
axle, looks like it's in, but can't really tell if that line is from the seal
axle nut will work
don't know about dist. plug wires
and use convelant tubing (harness tubing) to protect the o2 wires, also you need shielded wire for the signal wire, you can get it at radio shack, if you want pic's i'll send it through e-mail

I would love pics "95DxSi-R2"

Thanks "mike93eh" It must need to go in further because the lower ball joint is like 2 - 4 inches just short of the hole.

can anyone tell me if the distributor looks like its in the correct position.
I did the wiring like above but the engine is not turning over?

How do I check for spark & fuel?

I am going to change the plugs later on today.
I already have new wires, cap, & rotor.

Also i notice 1 hose off the pcv was loose and i am not sure
where it goes. I figure its to the back of the intake manifold.
can someone verify. (image below)

Also can anyone names some parts stores that stock
axle nuts... dealer needs 3-5 days... ( or someone sell me one or two )

If IAT sensor is not connected would the engine still start?

Thanks H-T

go to advance auto, napa, autozone... for the axle nuts. or you can use from the d axle.

it will start without the iat, take any plug wire loose and the same spark plug, plug the wire onto the spark plug, then lay the spark plug on a good ground and have someone crank the engine over. You'll see if it's sparking or not
if you don't have a fuel psi gauge, just unbolt a line off the fuel filter and prime the pump (turn the key to run)
u have a no crank no start or a crank no start?
don't know about the dizzy, are b18 and b16 the same setup?

you have the 2 sensors in the back of intake manifold pluged backwards. its the iat sensor and sumthen else. The plugs are close together on the harness, this will cause your car not to start.
