planning on swapping a jdm 2nd gen b16 in my 2000 ek. would i be able to use the obd1 distributor that comes with the motor or would i need a obd2 one? also would i need a new engine harness or can i use my stock one with some modifications done? also would i be able to use a p2t 99 si ecu with the motor. thanks.

if i were you, would get an obd2 b16a. if you buy an obd1 2nd gen, just trade someone for their obd2, yeah, you can change the plugs, but that is ghetto. swap all of your obd1 parts for obd2, get an si engine wiring harness. if you get an obd1 motor, you are going to get a code for ckf, which is on obd2 blocks, not obd1, unless you run an obd2-obd1 ecu jumper and run an obd1 ecu. you will also need to add a 2nd o2 sensor if you run the 99-00 si ecu with the si harness, unless you run an obd1 ecu. this is kind of a mess of info. if you have anymore questions, you can IM me or email me.

thanks tony i understand completely. yeah it would probably be easier to run an obd1 ecu with a jumper harness.
