Default B16 on P28

My p30 is some how fucked up and it idles like it needs a IAC but as soon as i swap out the ECU it stops. My friend has a P28 could i go with that until i get it chipped or would it run it lean, and also the other 2 ecus were chipped would that have anything to do with fixing my idle, that a stock p30 wouldn't do.

You could do a chipped p28, but what program is on the chip will contour how much fuel you'll get.

P28 will run it fine, you wont blow your motor, you just wont unlock the potential of the motor until you get a better "basemap".

Do you think that a P72 would work better for the time being? I remember after I swapped for my B16, the P72 I was using at the time was "ok." Not like my 30, but it took care of business. I know a lot of people use chipped 28's, but is a stock one ok for our motor?

A stock one will be fine until you get the correct ecu. But i wouldnt run it longer then a month, or if you do alot of driving 2 weeks.

Because the fuel and timing map will make it run leaner then what its suppose to. Anything other then what its suppose to be is bad for the motor and could lessen the lifespan of the motor.

I think a p72 on a b16 would give a CEL because the p72 also runs the GSR's IABs... which the b16 doesn't have. A basemap programmed/chipped P28 wouldn't hurt the car at all.
