Default EG6/Integra Brake Conversion - Booster Question

I couldn't find anything via the search for this, so I'm creating a topic.

I got a booster and a 1" MC for a brake conversion being done on my hatch (1993 EG DX).

But, the brake lines (the ones under pressure within the engine bay) don't all fit to the booster. One side of the booster (the left side - when your in front of the car facing the engine- I believe) has a normal size thread in which the stock lines will fit. The other side (right side) has a slightly larger thread.

I got a 4040 PV and the thread sizes on that are all the same (the same as the stock lines).

Does it make sense that one line alone will be the stock thread size on one end (connecting to the PV) and a larger thread size on the other end, connecting to the Booster??

I'm starting to think I have the wrong booster and MC.

I have the front disks installed already, and the car breaks great. I've held off on the rears and installing the booster, mc and pv until I can figure this out. Any ideas?

First, it looks like I had my parts messed up, when I said booster, I mean the MC.

Would the LS Integra MC be a 15/16? It looks like that's what I need after reading the threads that superslow was nice enough to paste for me.

Sorry again guys for asking and not searching sufficiently. I had seen some of those threads already, but I guess that small "Note" on the MC just didn't register. I have a 1" MC.

And just to be on the clear side, I'm attaching some pics so anyone can confirm that I'm not crazy and the thread to one of the hardlines is INDEED too big.

This one does not fit the stock hardline

And I believe this one DOES fit the hardline (but it would need to wrap around, I think..)

Thanks guys. And for not flaming me...yet..

Can I keep the booster that came with the MC, or do I have to get another booster too?

I believe the MC and Booster are from a GSR.

the MC you have now is for an abs equipped car. i did the same thing on my gsr.... youll need the booster, MC, PV, front brake lines, and lines from the PV to the master cylinder off of a 95 rs non abs. itll bolt up without having to bend any lines. i got the whole thing from a junkyard for 50 bucks. hope this helps

SO I can't use the booster I have now? I was hoping I'd just gave to replace the MC.

i had to do the same thing with my brake swap. I got ABS GSR brakes, i had to cut and re-flare the rear line, and bend it over to the other side. As for the fitting on that side, i went to the junkyard and got a fitting off of an ABS 90-93 accord. I cut and put the fitting on the line, and then re-flared it and put a little JB weld on for good measure.

you're problem is the same as mine. And its really hard to find a fitting in any store (or fluid connector/performance shop) that will fit a 10mm line, with a 12mm fitting. so... thats one way to solve it. hope that helps

Fuch!!

So you're saying cuz I got gsr brakes, I got to reflare? (I don't even know what reflaring means..Im guessing it means...twisting the hardlines??)

And yes, it is impossible to find fittings. AUtozone didn't have em. And another place said they don't recommend a fitting for hard lines, since they're under pressure.

*****.

yeah, you have to re-flare... like i said, you can get that fitting that works with that line off a 90-93 accord with ABS. then have some shop cut and re-flare the stock line for you, then just bend it to mate up

the problem here is you are trying to put a system that calls for abs in a car whose lines are for non abs. I have ran into it time and again when friends upgrade their **** without letting me know before hand. Either reflare the lines or return the bb and mc to the junk yard and exchange it for a 90+ nonabs bb and mc. That will fix all of your problems.

if you dont know flaring and whatnot, trust me you dont want to get into it. it is easiest to just get al the parts off an integra rs. you can use the ols booster but you need to adjust it to work with the new mc. i figured it was cheap enough to just get the whole setup and bolt it in. its by far the easiest- plus the lines youre cutting and flaring are a bitch to get to, you have to get a brake line bender so you dont pinch the line, a cutter and a flare tool with the right size bit for honda lines. if you like the oem look go for the complete swap IMO

Do you still have the brake booster that came with the car? The 91EX sedan MC and lines will bolt up to the stock booster (since your car probably didnt come with ABS) and is 15/16".

So do I need a 1" MC or 15/16?

Based on RTI's response, I can use a 91 EX mc and BB?

Or Can I use a MC and BB off any non-abs integra from 1990 and up?

Integras were hard to come by at the junkyard, but accords were plentiful. Other than the 91 ex, are there other mc's and bb's I can use for this?

The front brakes are on, and it brakes great, but I bet it will be better once I get the MC and BB on, and the 4040 pv...

If you get the MC from the 91 ex sedan you can use the factory EG MC w/o abs. It is only 15/16 instead of 1" but it is still better than the 13/16 your car came with. The advantage of this is that it is a direct bolt-on.

Wait, so ..I think you messed up there, or I'm retarded (or both..haha).

I get the MC from a 91 ex..to use the MC I currently have in me EG? Do you mean I can use the Booster I have if I get an MC from a 91ex?
