Default B20/VTEC swap problem

it can start sometimes, but it will sputter. at times it can be difficult to have a constant idle, but oddly enough it is constant at times. When it is constant and normal at idle, when I rev it, it will do the same sputter from 2k rpm and on. Eventually the engine will die out each time, and I will have start it again. It's not easy to start if I may also add. But basically sputtering is my main problem.

It seems like a fuel issue, but I've checked fuel, the entire system seems good... constant fuel pressure, etc.

Ignition, the spark wires are good and the plugs are good. I am waiting to get a new distributor, but if that doesn't solve it, I am friggin clueless as to what it may be.

No codes being thrown... and another problem is that sometimes when I rev, the speedometer will go up. 0-20mph and then that's it. Random spurts.

I am running a stock P28.

Any ideas or suggestions?
