When I changed my clutch I used an allen-head socket of just the right size to push that thing out of there. It was still a PITA.
What does this roll pin punch adapter for an air hammer look like? I'll definitely look into that if I ever have to pull my tranny again or the engine.

If you dont have access to an air hammer with the right punch, or a 8mm roll pin punch, use the AC compressor bolt #19 in the pic, has worked great for me plenty of times. Its the bolt thats pointed on the end.

thats number #19 bolts works great...does wander takes about 3-4 wacks at it with a hammer and the pin comes out

Damn, I wish I would've thought of that!!! It would have saved me from having to borrow the one from my work, and making arrangements to get a ride to/from the place. It would've saved me two hours!! LOL

go to Harbor Freight and buy a 5/16 punch (cheap). Jack up the car with enough space to swing a big hammer. It'll come out. Using screws and allen wrenches makes it really hard to get the pin out. With the punch, you just need swing a couple times.
