high output altr. or new batt. or both?
I may have asked this before but i dont remember
Alright, system iam going to put in is going to be around 1200wRMS altogether. Could i just get a high output alternator (like 160amps) or do I have to get a new battery too.
THe battery i was lookin at is the optima yellow top, but i forgot which one i need for my car, 96 hatch.
Also, i dont want to run a capacitor.
help appreciated

get a new alternator. then a new battery if you want, but the alternator is what supplies the battery with power so your going to need that first.

What amps are you using? let go from there to really see if you are going to need a new alt. We need to know how many amps that the ampilflier are going to pull? then go from there. But I would deff upgrade the battery.
Ill be using both Rockford Fosgate Punch amps, a P3002 and a P8002. The P3002 for some Alpine type R components and the P8002 for a coulpe 12" alpine type r subs. I would rather get the P10002 but best buy doesn't carry it. Shoot id even rather with a power series amp but i get no discount on what best buy dont carry

get the new alternator. then new battery. and then a cap. A cap helps with regulate the voltage burps if you will. It just stiffens and keeps the voltage at the same level all the time. They store little bits of energy and release it on a deep note.
