Engine bogging but NO CEL
I had an emergency and had to jump in the S and leave quickly, not letting the car warm up. It had rained the night before pretty heavy at times, but my drain hole is pluged up and havent had any problems over the last 3 months when it rained. It drove fine but when i hit 4-5 thousand rpms it would bog badly. I didnt try to hit vtec. When the temp bar reached 3 bars at a traffic light i turned the car off and on and it did it again around 4-5k. I noticed the first time it happened a big puff of smoke came out of the exhaust. It hasnt done it since, idle is fine seems to to drive fine. Could it have been a map or 02 sensor issue? Like I said no cel. And if there was water in my intake it would have drove like crap and probably would have hydrolocked as soon as I started it up and drove?
Not to mention its been in the high 30s and 40s and was cold when i didnt let the car warm up

may have gotten a lil water in the intake but not enough to hurt it. i would reset your ecu. if it happens again, then something is wrong. just drive normally for now
Hey bro,
My S did the samething like a week ago. I reseted the ECU and did an idle learn thing (rev at a consistent 3k until fan comes on without electrical overload(radio,ac,etc) after all that my car is running fine and its been a week or so now) hopefully this helps.
O, dont bother with the 02 you'll know it when it goes badd. I changed my 02 sensor, but it had nothing to do with it cause reinstall my old one.

your supossed to let the car get to operating temperature, then drive.

hey context clues buddy, i had an emergency, a family member was rushed to the hospital
the warming the car up statement was after resetting the ecu

Ok then, it was a compromise. I get puffs of smoke whenever I drive off or start off cold; it comes from condensed water in the exhaust.
