Check engine light
I was driving today and I was low on gas coming up a good size hill and it felt like it was running out of gas then the check engine light came on.......pulled over got gas and now it's running fine.........How do I turn the light off???????
disconnect the battery..should work just if you have the stock radio make sure you have the security code also if you open up the hood of your car in the fuse panel box you can disconnect the fuse (i think) it is the one on the top left for a few seconds then put it back on...besides the check engine light shouldnt have turned on for that thats what the fuel light is for.
No problem but if the light decides to turn on again you should ask someone with a scan tool to scan the codes and find out what might be wrong with it

Isn't there an easier way to reset the check engine light besides buying scanners or disconnecting fuses and battery? My friend did it for me in like a minute, its like a button you need to press underneath the dash. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

Yeah I wasn't sure. The light came on and nothing was wrong with my car since I just changed my oil.

Or you could just use the jumper on the passenger side and get the code yourself.
You can do it in your driveway, you don't have to go anywhere and hell you won't waste another persons time!
