I'm experiencing a limiter at 5,000 rpms. What could it be? No codes at all. Check engine light is working.

 

Your ecu seems to be runnin in LIMP mode!

Are you throwing a CEL?

Reading owns both of us........

Drive around at different loads - let the engine break(engine break) sometimes........even at high rpms.........something has to trigger the check engine light......but the light won't come on until it has to actually use the sensor or whatever.

ummmm are you sure that you are running it to 5000 rpms when the engine is warmed to proper temp. it wont let you run it over 5 grand if the engine is cold.

 

actually you can go over 5rpm when your engine is cold

 

yup i do it every mornin when im late

 

The engine is at operating temperature. Still 5,000 rpm limiter. Feels good otherwise.

 

Definatelly sounds like LIMP mode to me!

 

reset ur ecu and see if that does it.
