what would help would be a description of the problem. And what kind of amp. Sometimes they are not worth fixing. Repair is worth more then the amps prices. I can have it sent out but I need alittle more info.
i dotn know im buying a Resonant Engineering 35.1D amp from a guy online and he says its not working and he referred me to http://www.kbaudio.com to get it fixed for 100 bucks but id rather do it somehwere local where i can pick it up and what not.
What exactly is wrong with it. I might be able to walk you through the repair assuming you know how to solder.
The most common problem is blown power supply transistors or dead rectifier diodes.

after reading kb's policy. Did you check out the warrenty from them. 90 days. Most new amps come with a 1 to 2 years warrenty. It might be better to buy a brand new one. you have to take cost into issue. repair, cost of the amp, shipping.
Then if you read a little more down the line. If the amp breaks under warrenty they dont have to fix it. They will refund the cost. Now you are stuck with a broken amp, that you bought and is none thing more then a paper weight.
I would not do it if I was you. There is no way of telling if that amp can be fixed at all. sometimes they can't be repaired. most times they can. I melted my soundstream amp to a point were they had to replace it. lol . If you do buy it make sure the seller will take it back if it can not be fixed. It would suck-***** if you lose your money.

Which soundstream? Soundstream is one of the better companies out there. I can tell you from a design prospective you are getting a better product. They service IMO is also second to none. This has been my experience anyway.
I just got done repairing my old 10.2 I sold a friend of mine. He managed to burn out all the Power supply transistors. It got so hot a few desoldered themselves from the board.
Got pictures of the damage on that Soundstream?

Man I love soundstream. It was the old 10.a Mono amp, 1000 watts at 1 ohm. they made two version of it. 500 and 1000. They came chorme only. I'll find the model number because it was made in 96

Still have it? Want to sell it?
The version I just got done fixing was the 10.2 it came out after the 10.0 Basically the same thing. I haven't seen many 10.2's though.
I had both the 10.2 and Picasso. 25X2 and 25X4
