Default Mild build b16 200+hp how reliable is this as a dailydriven car?

Just as the topic says...I have a b16 1st gen and I want to do a mild build on it thinking of sticking to p30 pistons OS and pretty much new bearings, arp rod bolts, headstuds, p&p head, injectors, and so on.. As far as cams go I'm not really sure what would get me there, I'm really looking into the bc3 or skunk2 pro1 but I believe the pro1 would be a little to much for the b16... What would be the ideal compression. to even hit 200+ on a b16 and how realiable is this engine on a daily driven car and a weekend warrior say if I fully rebuilt it from top to bottom? I havent gone around in purchasing omni's dvd yet, I know theres some b16 out here putting out this kinda numbers can anyone share some ingredients to make this all work and not blow up in my face

thanks

Yea, we had to get all our ducks in a row before it could be released. That build Omni let us shoot was done the week of 09/28/03. Definately good job in bringing more good information to the board through your buildup. We by no means are trying to say this is the best way, its simply a documentation of a project on a healthy motor from a owner who wanted more power. There are some good tips that people can apply to thier setups and we have seen good response from a wide range of people that have found it beneficial. Some people like to have something to add to a mod list and forum discussion, in this attitude we have produced and provided this product. Depending on the continued response, we hope to bring more information and do more buildups people would like to see.
We learned alot on this project and hope that comes across. The idea for this project surfaced in July of 2003 from a post on Rocket's forum. Steve said he would demonstrate that pump gas has higher limits than most people
at the time thought possible, when he said he would make a street driven
world challenge-esque B16 motor I approached him and dedicated my resources
to shooting this project. Since then we have seen alot of options come along and the NA landscape seems to be more attainable. Its exciting seeing guys pull 230whp from stock 1.8L blocks, etc. The future is bright and its nice to see a group of people pushing the envelope!

Thanks,

Mike

Well Mike I do thank you and everyone that made the whole buildup possible and for documenting such a informative DVD which I might add, I still need to get but bills are kicking my *** so I never really get around into buying it, one of these days though But yeh from all the stuff I read in here about Omni's buildup and everyone else's, it gives me a whole lotta hope to work with what I have, since my pocket is not deep, thats why I try to get as much information as I can so I can get the right combinations of parts that will work together and achieve what you guys have achieved about 2 1/2 yrs ago. Thanks a whole lot
