Default head & intake manifold compatibility question

I have a F22B1 from my totalled 95 EX that I plan on putting into my hatch. I am thinking of starting the build on the motor after the holidays. But first I have some things I have to decide first. I have searched for these answers but I have not been able to find deffinative answers. So I'm hoping some of you can help me out.

1. It has been brought to my attention that an a4 or a6 head would have better flow than the b1 head currently on the motor. Is the flow that much better, enough to warrant buying a new head and swapping?

2. Does the a4 or a6 head mount up to the b1 block without problems? Or are there any issues with this swap?

3. If I were to go with an a4 or a6 head, which intake manifold would be best to go with. H23?

4. If the flow of the a4/a6 head isn't that much better than the b1 head, then which intake manifold would be best to use? Does the H23 intake manifold mount up to the b1 head?

Any help or links to threads with answers would be great.

Thanks

edit:
ok, after some more searching on another site, it seems as though the H23 manifold would mount up to the b1 head. All they say is a little machining is needed but don't go into detail. So if anyone can give more info on this, that would be great.

I don't mean to bump my thread but I've gotten a few good replies on other boards but would like to see if anyone on here has some input.

I found a write-up from someone putting a H23 IM on a B1 head so that question is pretty much answered. Just looking for peoples thought on the other questions I have.

Thanks

1. the flow in the head is not that much better, but its better. If you can get an a6 head for cheap, then do it

2. all f22 blocks are the same, so no, there would be little to no problem in swapping heads.

3. h23 im is best

4. use h23 im either way, and yes, some port matching is in your future if you do the H23 im swap on the b1 head.

How much better would you say? Just a ballpark figure would do if you can.

If the A6 head isn't all that much better then I may just stick with the B1 head. Partly since I already have it and I wouldn't have to buy another head. Also, I know the condition of my B1 head instead of buying something on someone elses word, no offence but some poeple are just out to make a quick buck.

So lets say after all is said and done; H23 IM & TB, port matching, P&P, cam, valve's , valve springs, retainers, ect. is the B1 head a good choice for all-motor?

thats a good start for an all motor set up, the only dissadvantage is see is that you're gona have a hard time finding a cam for sohc vtec.

i duno exactly the cfm's for each head, so i wouldnt know what to tell ya on that one.
But if you put all that stuff on an a6 head, it would be way much better, i know that.

i duno, but ill see if i can find the cfm's for each of the heads.

also, if you go to cb7tuner.com, look in the classifieds, for someone selling their head, im pretty sure you can get one for cheap, if not, then go to a junk yard and pull it yourself.

actually, Web Cam does a regrind for both non-vtec and vtec applications. I've also been told that Delta may also start doing a regrind for the vtec applications. Once I get to the cam part of the build I'll have to contact both and see whats availible.

see, thats what I'm wondering. I don't want to be doing all this work to just sell myself short with the flow of the head. But I can't find any hard numbers to support either head. I know the number will vary from each build due to different P&P and other parts but I can't even find anything to compare.

Yeah, CB7 seems to be a decent site. I signed up on there just the other day after searching through some threads on there. I also have this posted over there to see what people over there have to say.

How much would say is a good price for an A6 head?

It's the same thing even though I no longer have an Accord. I just figured it'd be easy so people from H-T and AD can identify me. I have the same SN on H-T, AD and now CB7.

I think I saw you on there as well. You have the same name right?
