need help with head removal
hey guys, i am helping a friend remove his head from his h23 and we cant get the pasenger side nut that holds the intake and head together, i cant even see it!! any easy way to get ti off?
get the stuff out of the way and use a wrench.....
make sure you guys follow the head bolt loosening sequence....
edit: why are you even taking the intake off....just leave it on and pull it with the head....

Yeah, I would just pull the intake out with the head.
The first time i took out my head, I took the intake off first, and it was a BIOTCH.
Space is too damned tight, much easier to pull intake out with it.

well i thought it would be easier because i didnt want to disconnect all tose damn lines and connections! so it is easier to leave the intake mani on? is there a support on the mani to the chasis? (i know civics have em)
on the h22 i know there is a brace from the bottom of the intake manifold to the block, not too sure about the h23 though, but yeah its easier to leave intake manifold on with head

wurd.
Unless you have some crazy pimp *** tool, you're gonna have to remove the camshafts
to gain access to the head bolts.
Make sure you unbolt them in sequence 1/3 turn at a time.
Don't forget about the bracket that bolts the im to the block
or the water pipe that has to be disconnected.
