Default H23 to F22B swap (search is down)...

I am thinking really hard about the f22b swap on my h23a1 and was trying to search for what else would be needed to complete the swap? Will any of my h23a1 parts fit onto a f22b? Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to start buying the parts now...

its a plug and play. the f22b uses the same head, intake manifold and so on. the block casting is the same as well, the only diff being in bore/sleeve material.

yep thats precisely what i was worried about, I have since bought pullies and any replacement parts for the F22, its all the exact same parts as H23. I believe its the JDM replacement for the USDM H23, could be wrong.

F22B 2156 160@6000 148@5000 9.2:1 85 95 dohc

H23A1 2258 160@5800 156@4500 9.8:1 87 95 dohc

Do those numbers look correct to you guys? and I will be losing 8'lbs of torque? If those numbers are right, then it seems like it will be worth it to me.

Seems after doing a little searching, that I am going to need to fabricate a knock sensor onto my f22b? Is this true? Is there a way of getting around it? What has anyone who has done this swap done about this?

i have never heard that you will have to fab a knock sensor, it should have one.....

the reason you lose that tq is the compression ratio....

From looking @ that thread it sounds like your best bet is to drill/tap a spot to screw in a knock sensor.

You may also be able to just plug in the knock sensor and not actually mount it on the block. Just a thought

Not to sounds stupid, but this is going to...What exactly is a knock sensor? What does is do? I am assuming that my h23a1 knock sensor will work in my f22b? Yes? No? Maybe?

It's a little electrical sensor that can measure quick vibrations or impacts coming from the engine. Like if the engine detonates or 'knocks' it tells the ECU that there is a problem and it will accommodate (like change timing or fuel or whatever).

I would bet money that the knock sensor will work with the F22 and H23. I have no doubt about that....you could probably even use one from '86 Civic. I have an ignition switch from an old Integra on my Prelude right now, haha.

So like this says:

"I had the H23 but i know have an F22b and since that is JDM it did not have a knock synsor like the H23 did. Ive been told i can JB Weld a Nut to my block and screw the knock synsor into that but that is a little to ghetto for me. Is their a way to bypass the synsor or some other way i can mount it since you cannot weld a nut to a aluminum block?"

I can just basically tack weld the knock sensor onto the block and it will be just fine?
