Default dowel pins help!! lsvtec

bought me a set of lsvtec dowel pins. place them on the intake side outter of ls block studs. when place the gsr head on. it didn't want to fit together. took out the dowel pin and try putting it on the gsr intake side holes and it does not fit. i thought they will fit without drilling. dowel pins are bigger than the holes and that is the small side also. need help

I forget which side they go on, I think they fit into the exhaust side. I put them in the block and put the headgasket on and then set the head on top of them. It was a tight fit and I had to hit it with a rubber mallet to get it on there but it fit perfect. Just keep trying holes until you figure it out-- theres only 4 holes on there that it could possibly be.

THey go on the exhaust side. You have the enlarge the holes to make them fit.

you have to drill the head out and put the dowel pins on the other side. The dowel pins that were in the head should be the same size as the LS which would fit perfectly in an LS headgasket

THe pins go on the exhaust side no if and or buts. You buy the stepped pin so you dont have to drill your head but you do have to enlarge the gasket.

Just buy a golden eagle conversion kit, and you will have every thing you need for the swap no drilling or last minute fabbing, well. I took my head to the machine shop, had everything done, plug that vtec oil thing in the head, tapped the back of the head, for oil line, then the dowl pins go in the block on exhaust side, place gasket on block, drop head on, The kit comes everything its like 250$$

I use it on my non vtec teg. It has all 4 dowel holes opened enough to fit the dowels. (if the head gasket not fitting is your problem)

its not the ls gasket that is the problem, its the lsvtec dowel pins that are not fitting. when the dowel pins are place on the intake side. the small side up will not fit into the head. when the dowel pins are on the exhast side big side up. the ls head gasket holes are a little small.
