i have ge head gasket and dowel pins and for some reason there are no instructions for them. where do i locate the dowel pins?? im confused in the middle of doing this and i need help quick.. thank you

I dont know if they are the same as the ones I had, but mine went on the exhaust side in the two farthest head stud holes apart. They only go in one way, due to thier sizes, you will figure it out just like I did. I'm pretty sure the smaller size slides into the block and the bigger size fits the head, with a little hammering with a rubber mallet. Mine didnt come with instructions either. I should have took pics.

well after i started this thread i called golden eagle and they told me the dowels go where the original ones are on the head. so i took the original dowels out and put the bigger side in first so the smaller end stood up. one side fit tight.. had to hit it down with a rubber mallet while the other side was near perfect fit sorta loose. also the headgasket from ge didnt stay in place on the head after the dowel pin install.. like u could move it around a little so i dont really know if this install is right? hope this person i talked to was correct cause tomorrow i plan on slappin the head to the block. has anyone else used ge dowel pins for their lsvtec set up?

umm personally i didnt use dowel pins...i used the headstuds as a guide and fixed it when i set the head.

my guess is that ur fine...i dunno what others think.

do you really need dowel pins for for this set up.. i heard alot of people dont use them. and some do use them is there a good and bad..to this ??

the dowel pins go over the two outer studs closest to the exhaust side.

yeah one of mine fit in perfectly too, the other one was kind of a bitch but it went in fine with a rubber mallet.

does the smaller side of the dowel pins go first or the larger end side goes first?? if i use the gsr water pump, will i need a ls timing belt or a gsr timing belt? this will be on an ls block. also about the stock ls headgasket. will i have to drill anything. if so how much bigger?
